CONSERVATION STATUS:
- Threatened.
CULTIVATION:
- Light shade to full sun.
- Regular watering with good drainage.
- Tolerates light frost.
PROPAGATION:
- Readily propagated from seed and suckers.
Transplants very successfully.
NATURAL HABITAT:
- KwaZulu Natal Province between Paulpietersburg and Louwsburg. Plants grow on cliffs and steep rocky slopes.
STEM:
- Erect, aerial stem which seldom becomes reclining.
- Stem can attain a length of up to 2 meters with a diameter of 25 cm – 35 cm.
LEAVES:
- Leaves are straight with sometimes a twist of the rachis at the apex.
- Leaves are dark bright green on the upper side with a lighter green on the lower side.
- Leaflets can be entire but most of the time have 1 – 4 teeth on both margins but more commonly on the lower margins.
