CONSERVATION STATUS:
- Critically endangered.
CULTIVATION:
- Does well with regular watering and good drainage, but can survive in drought.
- Semi shade to full sun.
- Tolerant of light frost.
PROPAGATION:
- Grows relatively fast and is easily propagated from seed. Rarely produces any suckers.
NATURAL HABITAT:
- KwaZulu Natal in the Tugela Ferry District. Often found in open, rocky areas and on cliffs.
STEM:
- Subterranean stem with a length of up to 30 cm – 35 cm and a diameter of 20 cm – 30 cm.
- Encephalartos cerinus pushing new leaves.
