- Critically endangered.
CULTIVATION:
- Thrives in deep soil with good drainage.
- Full sunlight.
- Frost tolerant.
PROPAGATION:
- Suckers profusely and also propagate from seed.
NATURAL HABITAT:
- Mpumalanga Province in the Blyde river area. Occurs in open grassland and on cliff ledges.
STEM:
- Erect but mainly subterranean.
- Stems seldom projecting more than 20 cm - 30 cm above ground level and can be up to 20 cm - 25 cm in diameter.
