CULTIVATION:
- Semi shade.
- Regular watering and sandy soil.

NATURAL HABITAT:
- Grows along the eastern coast of Southern Africa, from Kosi Bay in the north of
KwaZulu Natal up into Mozambique 100 km north of Vilanculos.
STEM:
- Erect, aerial stem up to 2 meters long.
CONES:
- Probably the most striking cones of all Encephalartos species with a bright red orange colour to yellow. The more south the origin of the plant, the more red and orange the cone. The plants from the northern areas in Mozambique tend to have lighter orange to yellow cones..
