CONSERVATION STATUS:
- Critically endangered.
CULTIVATION:
- Does well with regular watering and good drainage, but can sustain drought.
- Full sun.
- Frost hardy.
PROPAGATION:

Propagate from both seed and suckers.
NATURAL HABITAT:
- Northern Province in the Transvaal Drakensberg between Penge and The Downs.
- Typically grows in an area with dolomitic rocks in open grassland.
STEM:
- Erect, although long stems tend to become procumbent.
- Stems can attain a length of up to 2 meters with a diameter of 25 cm – 40 cm.
- The apex of the stem typically has greyish, woolly cataphylls.
